Water hardness in Poland – regional differences

Poland is a country with very diverse water hardness, resulting from different geological structure.

Regions with the hardest water (>20°dH)

• Upper Silesia: up to 35°dH
• Łódź and surroundings: 25–30° dH
• Mazovia and Warsaw: 18–25°dH
• Poznań and Greater Poland: 20–28°dH

Soft water regions (<10°dH)

• Podkarpacie and Bieszczady: 4–8° dH
• Tricity: 8–12°dH

Why is it important for business?

1 mm thick boiler stone increases energy consumption by approximately 7%. In an industrial plant, this can generate tens of thousands of zlotys of additional costs per year. Softening the water with tablet salt eliminates this problem.
